The Brewers are still looking for pitching, both for the starting rotation and the bullpen.

Gord Ash said the Brewers have no deals on the table at this time.

"I can't give you any odds on that right now," he said of talks with free-agent starters. "We've talked to some. We haven't advanced past the initial inquiry stage. It's a small group."

Ash noted that the financial stakes were raised for relievers when Brandon League and Jeremy Affeldt received three-year deals from the Dodgers and Giants, respectively.

"That kind of pushed it up a little bit," he said. "I don't see anything imminent. I wouldn't say it's harder now; I'd say more expensive."
