As Jorge Posada announced his retirement on Tuesday, Brian Cashman twice mentioned the longtime Yankee as a "borderline Hall of Famer." Wallace Matthews of ESPN.com writes that while Posada is a borderline Hall of Famer, "for me, they look to be on the side of the border that lies within the confines of Cooperstown." There are 15 catchers in the Hall of Fame. From now until 2032, Posada will be eligible for consideration by the voting members of the BWAA.
