The Yankees may opt to rest shortstop Derek Jeter on Wednesday against the Indians in Cleveland. After recording two hits on Tuesday night, Jeter is just four hits shy of 3,000 for his career. After the series finale in Cleveland, the Yankees will host a four-game series against the Rays. Jeter, who came off the disabled list on Monday after rehabbing a strained calf muscle, has played four straight days including two appearances with Double-A Trenton. "I want to play," said Jeter. Yankees manager Joe Girardi plans to "sleep on it" before announcing his plans. "I want to talk to him, think about it and I'll go from there," said Girardi, who seemed to be leaning toward sitting Jeter on Wednesday. "He's four hits away, and as I've said, my concern is us winning ballgames and him being healthy."
