Derek Jeter returned to the lineup for the Yankees on Monday night, resuming his chase for 3,000 hits. He went hitless in a loss to the Indians, leaving him six knocks shy of the milestone. The shortstop missed three weeks with a strained calf muscle. Jeter said Monday that he's more focusing on improving than any plateau. "I'm not happy with my first half," Jeter said. "Physically, I'm fine. No problems," he added. "I was nervous at the beginning. It was almost like Opening Day again when you haven't played in a while. As the game went on, I felt a lot better." Jeter hit .260 with a .324 on-base average and 39 runs scored in 62 games before being sidelined, numbers below those he posted during his career-worst season in 2010.
