A spokesman for MLB tells The New York Times the league is looking into a procedure performed on Yankees right-hander Bartolo Colon last year. An orthopedic surgeon in Florida tells the newspaper he flew to the Dominican Republic and injected stem cells from Colon back into his elbow and shoulder to help repair ligament damage and a torn rotator cuff. The doctor says he has used Human Growth Hormone in the treatment before, but didn’t in Colon’s case.
