With Jason Heyward in town, the talk in the Marlins clubhouse naturally turned to the organization's own phenom, Mike Stanton. Gonzalez said that although he keeps an eye on all of the Marlins prospects in Triple A and Double A, Stanton is ``obviously . . . the big elephant in the room.'' The Marlins still haven't decided if or when Stanton will be brought up to the big leagues. But Cody Ross said he expects it to happen sometime next month. Two weeks ago, AOL Fanhouse speculated that June 5 was the date that would preclude Stanton and other young phenoms from qualifying for Super Two status -- the difference between those players' salaries growing enormously in 2014 instead of 2013. "They've seen the kid in spring training and know how the kid is. He's a humble kid, a good kid," Gonzalez said of the talk in the clubhouse. "They're pulling for him and they want to see him and they want to be his teammates. They get the Twitter updates, the e-mails and they know when he has a home run or hits a 560-foot shot. "[Dan] Meyer was there the day he did. He couldn't wait to come in and tell the whole team how far this kid hit the ball. They love him."
