It isn't guaranteed that pitcher Joba Chamberlain will be on the roster when the Yankees begin their ALDS next week. "If they want me to fold towels, I'll fold towels," Chamberlain told the New York Daily News. "I don't really care. Whatever they see fit, I want to help this team win in any role that I'm in." Chamberlain struggled yet again on Wednesday. He was pulled in the fourth inning of New York's 4-3 loss to Kansas City. "It was not a good start," said manager Joe Girardi. "We got his pitch count up, which was a good thing, but we didn't get his pitch count up in the amount of innings we wanted, so that's a bad thing. I would not consider this a quality start." If Chamberlain does make New York's playoff roster, he'll likely be used as a reliever.
