After skipping his next scheduled start because of hip inflammation, the White Sox could shut down Gavin Floyd for the remainder of the season. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen added that the team could shut Mark Buehrle down as well if the club continues to fall in the standings. "We'll give [Jake] Peavy Buehrle's start and give Peavy Gavin's start. Give him all of those starts," Guillen joked to the Chicago Sun-Times. "I think Buehrle [can be shut down] because he has a lot of innings piled up. But I have to continue to have a season and make those guys go out there and earn the money for that reason. For pride, to finish better. For money, because you are a free agent ... whatever the reason is. We have to show up and play the way we should play every day, no matter what our situation is."
