Rangers starter Vicente Padilla fired back at Mark Teixeira after the first baseman insinuated that the pitcher was drilling him intentionally. Padilla hit Teixeira twice in New York's 12-3 win over Tuesday night. "I think that is unfair," Padilla responded through a translator. "I have runners on first and third. Why would I do that? The answer is that it's stupid if he thinks it was an intentional pitch." Texas manager Ron Washington came to the defense of his pitcher after the game. "I guess he was trying to get inside on him, keep him from diving over the plate," Washington said.
