There have been rumors linking the Angels to free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez, but general manager Tony Reagins has denied any interest. "We haven't made any offer or had any discussions about bringing him in," Reagins said. "We're still in this pattern where we're waiting for guys ? (Ervin) Santana, (John) Lackey ? to get back. "Obviously, we're monitoring it very closely but we think at this point in the season we're going to be OK. Guys that are injured are making some progress which will put us in a position to get people back and not have to go outside the organization. If it gets to the point where we have to, then we'll make those calls." Starting pitchers John Lackey, Ervin Santana and Kelvim Escobar are all battling injuries.
