Chipper Jones left Team USA's game against Venezuela on Sunday with a mild strain of his right external oblique muscle. The injury will likely keep him out for the remainder of the World Baseball Classic, but the third baseman is holding out hope that he'll be able to return for his country. "I got a good pitch to hit and tried to come out of my shoes to hit it," said Jones of the at-bat during which he suffered the injury. "And I'm a switch-hitter, it's something that's happened to me dozens of times."
