Cubs' closer Kerry Wood will miss Tuesday night's All-Star game because of a blister on his right index finger, according to The Chicago Tribune. Wood has had the blister for the last three weeks, but the Cubs didn't let on so other teams wouldn't know about it. "I don't think it's probably the smartest decision [to pitch]," Wood said. "We have an opportunity now to take six days to let it get better, and that way, we don't have to deal with it the rest of the year." "Obviously, I'd love to [participate], but my main focus is on being able to help this team in the second half."
