Home teams are winning at a rate not seen in 75 years in Major League Baseball, according to The New York Times. Entering Sunday's games, home teams were 541-396, a winning percentage of .577. Over the same period last season, home teams had a .522 winning percentage. "There are usually quirky periods, and I never try to explain them," said Katy Feeney, Major League Baseball's senior vice president for scheduling and club relations. "There's always the thought that there is a home field advantage, but why it's at such extremes this year, I don't know. It's still so early."
