Jim Riggleman will be the Nationals' manager in 2011, according to an ESPN.com report on Tueday.
Riggleman signed a two-year deal with the club before last season, and the team needed to notify him if it was going to buy out the second year.
But the Nationals announced that Riggleman will be back after the team increased its win total from 59 to 69 in 2010, which still resulted in a third consecutive last-place finish in the NL East.

Bryce Harper finished 1-for-4 with a two-run double Wednesday, his professional debut.
"I felt really good at the plate and I was not really jumpy at all. I didn't feel overmatched at all," Harper said. "They came after me and I really appreciate that. I thank all of them for coming at me and facing me with the fastball and offspeed."
Harper is the second youngest player in Arizona Fall League history, four days younger than Fernando Martinez of the Mets who debuted in 2006.

Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo signed a five-year contract extension through 2015 and was promoted to executive vice president of baseball operations on Tuesday.
The promotion gives Rizzo more control over the team and a direct line to Washington's ownership.
"I do believe that, with the new responsibility, the new title and, really, the new job description, it will be my baby, and my fingerprints will be all over the organization, even more so than they are already," Rizzo said.

The Nationals have decided to assign top overall pick Bryce Harper to the Arizona Fall League.
Harper will be on the taxi squad, which means he will play twice per week.
"He performed admirably in the instructional league," general manager Mike Rizzo said.
"He got his feet on the ground and he was immersed in baseball, which he embraced greatly. He is what we call a baseball rat."
