Willingham Drawing Interest From Teams

Free-agent outfielder Josh Willingham is drawing interest from a number of teams looking to bolster their offense.

The Boston Globe reports that the Giants, Mariners and Braves have looked at Willingham.

The Globe adds that he could be an option for the Red Sox if they fail to re-sign Jason Bay as well.

He hit .260 with 24 home runs and 61 RBIs for the Nationals in 2009.

Strasburg Won't Need Knee Surgery

The Nationals say that No. 1 pick Stephen Strasburg will not need surgery on his injured left knee.

He dislocated his knee joint during a workout on Thursday and was scratched from his start in the Arizona Fall League championship game.

He was examined by a doctor on Friday and is expected to be ready for spring training.

Sources: Strasburg Heard 'Pop' In Knee

Stephen Strasburg will miss Saturday's AFL title game with an injury that is getting more serious as time passes.

The Phoenix Desert Dogs scratched Strasburg on Thursday, saying that the injury wasn't serious and that an MRI showed only "inflammation."

However, two sources told the Washington Post that Strasburg, the first pick in June's MLB Draft by the Nationals, heard a "pop" in his knee and crumpled to the ground while shagging balls in the outfield.
