Strasburg Rebounds With Dominant Start

Stephen Strasburg was dominant over 4 1/3 innings Tuesday in his third Arizona Fall League start.

The Washington Nationals' top prospect, pitching for the Phoenix Desert Dogs, allowed one run and one hit to beat the Surprise Rafters. The right-hander carried a no-hitter into the fifth and struck out five, flashing a fastball that reached 100 mph three times in the first inning.

Strasburg was roughed up for eight runs in 2 2/3 innings Thursday against Peoria, serving up three homers in the process.

"The thing about being a pitcher and something that I learned from being a closer at [San Diego State] my freshman year is that, to be a good pitcher, you have to have a short-term memory," he said. "I just went out there today and tried to pitch my game."
