Dunn Doesn't Want To Sign Until Manny Does

An official of one team that has had contact with Adam Dunn's agents says Dunn is "definitely" waiting to see what happens with Manny Ramirez because the Dodgers are his preferred destination.

That's not a good development for the Nationals, who have made no secret of their interest in Dunn.

Zimmerman Working With 'Nats On Deal

Washington third baseman Ryan Zimmerman is working with the team to get a long-term deal sorted out before the season starts.

"We are still a long way from arbitration. We have a couple of weeks to try and do something," said Zimmerman on Sunday afternoon. "It's part of the game. It's a business. There are no hard feelings in any way. The relationship that we have had with the front office has been nothing but positive the whole time I've been here. That's the way it's always going to be."

He insists that there are no hard feelings and is positive that the Nationals are headed in the right direction.

Zimmerman is asking for $3.9 million for this coming season, and Washington countered with $2.75 million.

Dunn Interested In Playing For Nationals

Fans in Washington D.C. are clamoring for the Nationals to sign free-agent slugger Adam Dunn, who could come cheaper than many believed he would at the beginning of the offseason.

Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman has spoken with Dunn, who is very interested in joining the team.

"He likes this place," Zimmerman said. "He likes everything about it. Obviously he knows Jim [Bowden, the Nationals' general manager,] and knows what he is about. There are a lot of ties in there. We have to kind of wait to see what happens. There's still some time."
