Blue Jays Still Looking Like Buyers

The Blue Jays have given little indication that they will look to trade potential free agents Edwin Encarnacion and Kelly Johnson.

Toronto continues to maintain a buyer's stance, sending multiple scouts to at least two recent starts by Wandy Rodriguez and maintaining contact with the Cubs about right-hander Matt Garza, according to major-league sources.

Sammy Sosa holds the major league record with 20 home runs in June of 2008.

Jays Not Ready To Bring Snider Back To Bigs

Travis Snider has improved in the minor leagues, but the Blue Jays do not have a timetable for his return to Toronto.

Alex Anthopoulos insists that when Snider comes back, it will be to play regularly, not sit on the bench.

"I don't think right now there is playing time," the general manager said. "Rajai (Davis) has played so well and Colby (Rasmus) is also playing well.

"Trav has hit some home runs and we want him to hopefully continue to play well until an opportunity presents itself up here. If he keeps doing what he's doing, he'll find his way back but right now Raj hasn't done anything to lose that job."
