Josh Hamilton Leaves With Knee Tendinitis

Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton left Friday's game against the Angels in the seventh inning with a flare-up of right knee tendinitis.

Hamilton said he'll come in for treatment on Saturday and see if the trainers feel like he can get a cortisone shot in the knee.

"It was hurting before everything started [Friday], the batting practice and everything," Hamilton said.

"The pain part doesn't bother me, it's the giving out on me. I don't want to be out there, especially in center field, an important spot in the field, and if I can't go get a ball, we need to put somebody out there who can."

Texas Acquires Guzman From Washington

The Rangers have traded for Nationals shortstop Cristian Guzman, according to a source.

Guzman's agent, Stanley King, confirmed the trade.

Texas has been looking for help in the infield because it dealt first baseman Justin Smoak to the Mariners in the Cliff Lee deal, then Ian Kinsler went on the disabled list with a strained left groin.

The Rangers acquired Jorge Cantu from the Marlins on Thursday.
