Rangers Give Feldman One-Year Deal

The Rangers have agreed to a one-year deal with right-hander Scott Feldman.

The contract for 2010 will be worth $2,425,000 and avoided an arbitration hearing.

Feldman went 17-8 with a 4.08 ERA in 2009.

Rangers Sold For $570 Million

The buying group led by Chuck Greenberg and Nolan Ryan acquired the Texas Rangers for $570 million, several sources have told SI.com.

The group outbid former superagent Dennis Gilbert's group, which is thought to have offered about $525 million.

Previous owner Tom Hicks purchased the Rangers for $250 million in 1998.

Yankees Make Trade For Greg Golson

The New York Yankees today acquired outfielder Greg Golson from the Texas Rangers in exchange for minor league infielder Mitch Hilligoss.

Golson, 24, batted .258 (118-for-457) with 27 extra-base hits and 40 RBI in 123 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2009. He is a .263 (674-for-2,558) career minor league hitter with 120 doubles, 36 triples, 48 home runs and 265 RBI in 634 combined games in the Philadelphia Phillies and Rangers minor league systems. Originally selected by Philadelphia in the first round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft, he has appeared in seven Major League games, six with Philadelphia in 2008 and one with Texas in 2009, going hitless in seven at-bats and scoring two runs. Prior to the 2009 season, Baseball America named the Austin, Tex., native as the ?Best Athlete,? ?Fastest Baserunner? and ?Best Outfield Arm? in the Texas organization.

Sheets Seeking $8 Million Deal

Free-agent pitcher Ben Sheets is seeking $8 million annually, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman.

The Athletics, Mets and Rangers remain interested in Sheets.

The pitcher raised his value with what several scouts described as an excellent workout in Monroe, La.

Rangers Add Colby Lewis To 40-Man Roster

The Rangers have officially added pitcher Colby Lewis to their 40-man roster, while designating infielder Joe Inglett for assignment.

Texas picked Inglett up off waivers from Toronto in early December.

The Rangers and Lewis agreed to a two-year contract last week.
