The Rangers appear to lead the race to sign free-agent pitcher Jon Garland.
The Boston Globe writes that Garland is a perfect middle-of-the-rotation guy for the National League.
Garland went 11-13 for the Dodgers and Diamondbacks in 2009 with a 4.01 ERA in 33 starts.
