Ex-Prez Bush To Throw Out First Pitch For Rangers

Former President George W. Bush will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Rangers home opener, the club announced Monday.

Bush was managing general partner of the Rangers from 1989-94 before his election as Texas governor, and will make his first appearance at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington since 2000.

The team's home opener is April 6 against the Indians.

Rangers Snag Koshansky Off Waivers

The Rangers, concerned about their depth at first base, have claimed first baseman Joe Koshansky off waivers from the Colorado Rockies.

Texas then optioned Koshansky to Triple-A Oklahoma.
