The Rangers could look to deal Hank Blalock if things go south this season, according to The Dallas Morning News.
The club has an option to retain him for 2009, but they aren't expected to pick it up and could look to acquire something in return for the slugger.
Blalock, who is currently on the disabled list, is hitting .299 with three home runs and seven RBI's this season. The Rangers are in third place in the AL West, 5.5 games behind the Angels heading into Wednesday night's action.

The Rangers are exploring several options involving a long-term contract for Josh Hamilton, according to The Dallas Morning News.
There have been some internal discussions in the organization and at least one conversation with Hamilton's agent about agreeing on a long-term pact.
"What's meant to happen is going to happen," Hamilton said after acknowledging some conversation. "The more I read the Bible, the more I realize it doesn't make any sense to worry. I'm not going to be able to add one day to my life by worrying. I know God will provide for my family."
"I couldn't be happier with how Josh has performed and how he's fit into the community," General Manager Jon Daniels said from Texas.

Rich Harden struggled against the Rangers on Sunday in his first start since his latest stint on the disabled list.
He lasted less than four innings, surrendering five earned runs on eight hits and four walks.
He struck out five batters but struggled with his command after it initially looked good in a pair of rehab starts last week.
He threw 90 pitches, with 59 recorded as strikes.
He did not figure into the decision against the Rangers because Sidney Ponson struggled as the opposing starter. He allowed six runs in a little over five innings of work.
Harden's next start will likely come this weekend against the Braves in Atlanta.

Millwood, the team's number one starter, is 2-3 with a 4.88 ERA in nine starts this season.
The right-hander left his start on Saturday night in the first inning after throwing just twelve pitches.

The Blue Jays sent cash to the Rangers on Friday in exchange for Kevin Mench and signed free agent Brad Wilkerson to bolster their outfield, according to The Associated Press.
Mench was playing in Triple-A Oklahoma, while Wilkerson was released by Seattle on April 30.
"I'm working on three hours sleep," Mench said before the start of a four-game series against the Indians. "It's been a whirlwind last 24 hours."
"They are two guys we've always liked," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "We've been looking for a right-handed bat to complement [Matt] Stairs at DH. We've also been looking for a left-handed hitter. To be able to get both is like a bonus."
