Report: Rays' Kazmir Out Two Weeks

Tampa Bay left-hander Scott Kazmir will be on the shelf for two weeks with stiffness in his throwing arm, according to ESPN.com.

"It was just a little scary because I never felt it before," Kazmir told the St. Petersburg Times. "But after I talked with [team trainer Ron Porterfield] and everything and we did some of the strength tests, I felt confident it would be all right."

Rays Skipper Admits 'Minor' Bonds Talk

Tampa Bay manager Joe Madden admitted on Monday that the Rays have had minor internal discussions about signing Barry Bonds, according to ESPN.com.

"A minor discussion was thrown out there a little bit, and it's really not gone any further than that," Maddon told the ESPN after Monday's team workout. "That's all it is right now."

Kazmir Suffers Elbow Discomfort, MRI Scheduled

Scott Kazmir experienced a problem with his elbow on Tuesday and will have an MRI conducted.

"On my last warmup pitch, I just kind of felt a little discomfort," Kazmir told the AP.
