Lester Takes No-Hitter In Sixth, Loses

Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester took a no-hitter into the sixth inning on Saturday night, but ended up losing to the Mariners.

Seattle scored two runs in the sixth inning and another three in the eighth as they topped Boston 5-1 at Safeco Field.

"I felt like I had good stuff but you can never predict that stuff," Lester said. "I hung a curve ball to a guy that I shouldn't have. He made a good swing at it [and] hit it out."

Figgins, Wakamatsu Brawl During Seattle Loss

Seattle's loss to Boston on Friday night was highlighted by a mid-game fight in the dugout between benched second baseman Chone Figgins and manager Don Wakamatsu.

The scrum was brief, but intense and included: a shouting match across the length of the bench; pushing between players and coaches who were trying to intervene; one Mariner climbing over others and lunging toward Figgins; the starting pitcher in the middle trying to make peace; and third baseman Jose Lopez having his jersey pulled off his back.
