Giants Decline $10M Option On Huff

The Giants will officially decline the $10 million option on Aubrey Huff's contract for next season.

Instead, the team will pay Huff a $2 million buyout.

World Series Has Record-Low Rating

The Giants combined with the Tigers to set a record low for World Series television ratings.

San Francisco swept Detroit. The four games on Fox averaged a 7.6 rating and 12 share.

The previous low was an 8.4 for the 2008 Phillies-Rays and 2010 Giants-Rangers series, which each went five games.

Giants Set Championship Parade For Wednesday

The Giants will by honored by the city of San Francisco with a ticker-tape parade on Wednesday.

The parade will begin at the foot of Market Street and will continue to Civic Center Plaza.

"The rain in Detroit couldn't dampen the drive, talent and determination of the San Francisco Giants team tonight," Mayor Ed Lee said. "Once again, the Giants brought our city together as we all cheered on our hometown heroes to another remarkable World Series victory."

Giants Celebrate With Tigers Championship Buckets

In the mayhem following San Francisco's World Series victory, some members of the franchise were handed silver buckets containing two champagne bottles and an incorrect logo.

Some of the buckets had 2012 World Series championship logos featuring the Tigers instead of the victorious Giants.

NL Has Three Straight Titles For First Time In 30 Years

With San Francisco's World Series victory, the National League has won the last three championships.

The NL hadn't put together such a run for 30 years. It might be considered odd because the American League has dominated interleague play lately.
