Report: Giants Agree To Trade With Phillies For Pence

The Giants will acquire Hunter Pence from the Phillies, according to a report.

Philadelphia traded with the Astros for Pence at last year's trade deadline.

The Phillies agreed earlier Tuesday to send Shane Victorino to the Dodgers for a pair of pitchers.

The Giants deny a deal is complete, but more than one outlet has reported the trade will happen.

Giants Have Inquired About Alfonso Soriano

The Giants have had conversations with the Cubs about Alfonso Soriano ahead of Tuesday's non-waiver trade deadline, according to a source.

Soriano said Sunday that he had not yet been approached by Chicago about waiving his 10 and 5 rights.

In the sixth year of an eight-year, $136 million contract, Soriano is still owed $44 million.

Schierholtz Denies Requesting Trade From Giants

Nate Schierholtz is denying a report that he has formally requested a trade from the Giants.

"I haven't said one thing about anything other than baseball in two weeks," said Schierholtz.

"Nothing has changed at all. My agent knows if anybody is going to say anything (to the Giants), it's me. I expressed how I felt a couple weeks ago and that was the end of it."

Schierholtz admitted to the San Francisco Chronicle earlier this month that he would welcome a change of scenery if it meant the chance to play every day.
