Giants Trade Molina To Rangers

The Texas Rangers have traded for catcher Bengie Molina from the Giants, according to multiple news media outlets.

MLB Network reported Wednesday night that the Molina deal is for pitcher Chris Ray and a player to be named laster. FoxSports.com, citing a major league source, also reported the deal and that Ray is part of it.

Giants Call Up Bumgarner To Start Saturday

Madison Bumgarner was scratched from his Triple-A start Friday and will start on Saturday against the Red Sox.

Joe Martinez warmed up in the bullpen on Friday when Jonathan Sanchez was struggling and that was given as part of the reason.

Bruce Bochy said they wanted a fresh arm, but the decision was likely made far before Martinez ever started warming up.

Mark DeRosa Done For Season

Giants outfielder Mark DeRosa will have season-ending surgery on his left wrist.

DeRosa has been out since May 9 with an inflamed nerve in the wrist.

He signed a $12 million, two-year deal with San Francisco last winter.
