Giants Interested In Buying Golden State Warriors

Giants president Larry Baer said, ?It?s possible we could have some relationship? with groups that are trying to buy the Golden State Warriors. Baer, in a recent interview with the Business Times, said that the Giants have been approached by different groups looking to buy the Warriors.

Baer declined to mention which groups approached the baseball club.

The Giants have a history of entrepreneurial endeavors outside of baseball.

There are at least 10 suitors for the Warriors, according to the SportsBusiness Journal.

Giants Could Call Posey Up Sooner Than Expected

The Giants would like to keep Buster Posey in the minor leagues until June to ensure an extra year of arbitration eligibility, but the San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that the organization has discussed bringing the catcher up earlier.

One team official said that a call-up isn't imminent, but the Giants are keeping tabs on Posey as their offense continues to sputter.

Posey is currently catching and playing first base at Triple-A Fresno.

Sanchez Could Return To Giants In Mid-May

The Giants are getting closer to having second baseman Freddy Sanchez back in the lineup.

He has started playing in extended spring training games and could rejoin San Francisco by mid-May.

Sanchez missed all of spring training after undergoing surgery on his non-throwing left shoulder in December.

He's also coming off left knee surgery.

"It looks like he's on his way now," manager Bruce Bochy said. "He's playing defense, swinging the bat ... he's doing everything. I'd put it right around two weeks."
