Ron Wotus will return as bench coach of the Giants under new manager Bruce Bochy after being passed up for the skipper job.
The Giants announced their coaching staff Wednesday, featuring many of the same faces. The members of Bochy's staff are hitting coach Joe Lefebvre, pitching coach Dave Righetti, first-base coach Willie Upshaw, bullpen coach Mark Gardner and bullpen catcher Bill Hayes. Tim Flannery is the new third-base coach, replacing Gene Glynn.

According to baseball sources, the Red Sox are very agressively shopping Manny Ramirez, as his value has never been higher.
"I wouldn't be shocked if the Red Sox traded him by Saturday," says one big league official.
The Red Sox are expected to sign J.D. Drew by Saturday and will then be ready to deal Ramirez.
The Giants, Dodgers, Padres and Rangers are involved with the conversations.
The Orioles have spoken with the Red Sox about Ramirez recently, but their conversations hadn't advanced in recent days. The Indians and Red Sox talked last week, but those conversations are dead.

Sources on Sunday confirmed that the Giants are among the teams talking seriously to the Red Sox about a trade for Manny Ramirez.
Ramirez is owed $14 million and $16 million, plus a total of $8 million in deferred salary, over the final two seasons of the eight-year, $168 million contract he signed with Boston.
He also has veto power over any trade.
10 months ago, Ramirez told MLB.com, "I know the American League system. That's one reason I don't want to go to the National League."
Ramirez's agent, Greg Genske, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The Giants are expected to sign Dave Roberts to a three-year deal worth about $16-18 million, possibly on Monday.
The Giants haven't closed the door on re-signing third baseman Pedro Feliz or second baseman Ray Durham, but a club source said they are poised to move in other directions.
They are close to signing Rich Aurilia, but they would prefer to wait until the Reds decline arbitration on the veteran.

Mark Mulder is unlikely to be ready at the start of the regular season because of September shoulder surgery. He is likely to sign an incentive-laden contract.
San Francisco, San Diego and the Los Angeles Dodgers also are among the teams that also appear to be after Mulder.
