Padres Place Prior On 60-Day DL

The Padres placed Mark Prior on the 60-day DL on Wednesday as part of a flurry of moves to trim their roster to the 25-man limit, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

Prior, who has made trips to the DL an annual rite of spring, signed a one-year, $1M deal with his hometown team on December 26.

The talented, but injury-prone, righthander still is recovering from shoulder surgery that caused him to miss the 2007 season and is not expected to pitch until June at the earliest.
