The Pirates have placed pitcher Chris Jakubauskas on the disabled list one day after he was hit in the head with a line drive.
Jakubauskas took the shot off the bat of Houston's Lance Berkman on Saturday.
He has a concussion and a contusion.
"He"s doing pretty good," manager John Russell said. "He's feeling OK, a little tired obviously. We were fortunate. It could've been a lot worse. It's looking like it's working out pretty good for him. He was in pretty good spirits."

The Pirates are in dire need of a starting pitcher, but general manager Neal Huntington doesn't appear close to making a move for outside help.
Pittsburgh lost 20-0 to Milwaukee on Thursday.
Chris Jakubauskas will be recalled by the Pirates on Friday. He was a member of the team's Triple-A rotation in Indianapolis.
Kevin Hart, also in the Triple-A rotation, will be summoned to start Saturday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
"By the time we could sign and stretch out one of the free agent options, we'll have internal solutions," Huntington said.

The Brewers defeated the Pirates on Thursday thanks to a historic outcome.
Milwaukee won 20-0. It is the only 20-0 game since 1900, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Also, it marks the fifth-most lopsided shutout in Major League history.
"It's rare, it's special," Ryan Braun said. "In this game, you deal with so much failure, so much adversity, that when you do have a game like this you need to enjoy it. That's the first time in my career, at any level, that I've been a part of a game like this, and there's a good chance it's the last time."
