The Associated Press has reported that Pirates' pitcher Damaso Marte was in a car accident in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday but did not suffer an serious injures.
"He feels fine," Pittsburgh GM Neal Huntington told the AP. "Thankfully, everybody's OK."

The Pittsburgh Pirates signed right-hander Hector Carrasco and left-hander Casey Fossum to minor league contracts on Thursday, according to the York Daily Record.

According to the Associated Press, Jaret Wright and the Pirates agreed on a minor-league deal Wednesday, including an invitation to spring training.
Wright, a 15-game winner for the Braves in 2004, had a 6.97 ERA while losing all three games he started for the Orioles last year. He pitched only in rehabilitation games after that because of a sore shoulder, but did not undergo surgery.
