Phillies veteran shortstop Jimmy Rollins was benched after a pair of baserunning blunders Thursday in Philadelphia's 3-2 win over the New York Mets, according to an ESPN.com report.
Rollins was pulled for the start of the seventh inning after a pair of mistakes in the sixth.
Rollins failed to run hard on a dropped popup that could have put him on second base. He stole second base, then was caught in a rundown on a grounder and was tagged out.

Chase Utley is considering playing third base again, according to an ESPN.com report.
Utley took grounders at third base several hours before the Phillies played the Mets on Wednesday night.
It's uncertain whether he'll do it in an actual game.
"I figured I'd give it a try just to get back over there, get my feet wet, just get a feel for the position again," Utley said.

Charlie Manuel sat down with Jimmy Rollins recently after the Phillies shortstop did not run out a ground ball.
Both men confirmed the meeting, claiming that it was productive.
"We have two rules: Hustle and be on time," Manuel told reporters. "We'll see. That's all I have to say. This is between Jimmy and me."
Rollins jogged up the first-base line after hitting a routine grounder to shortstop in the sixth inning of Wednesday's loss to the Marlins.
"I was just upset before I even got up there," Rollins said of the at-bat. "I was already out of it. Mentally, just upset."
Rollins would not say what he was upset about, but also said it was "not an excuse" for not running hard.
Manuel admitted he considered benching Rollins, but opted against it.
