Phillies' Howard, Hamels, Lidge To Skip WBC

A trio of Phillies have reportedly declined an offer to play for the United States in the World Baseball Classic.

First baseman Ryan Howard and pitchers Cole Hamels and Brad Lidge all told Team USA that they do not want to be considered for the roster.

"[Howard] feels like he needs to spend his time in the spring getting ready for the season so he gets off to a better start," Team USA manager Davey Johnson told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

FCC Receives 26 Complaints About Utley F-Bomb

At a rally at Citizens Bank Park after the Phillies' Oct. 31 championship parade, Chase Utley leaned into a microphone and used the f-word when exclaiming that the team was the "World Champions."

Fans in attendance loved it, but 26 people that tuned to the live broadcasts on local radio and TV filed complaints with the FCC. The agency, which said Friday it was reviewing the complaints, could fine the stations for indecency.
