He lasted less than four innings, surrendering five earned runs on eight hits and four walks. He struck out five batters but struggled with his command after it initially looked good in a pair of rehab starts last week. He threw 90 pitches, with 59 recorded as strikes. He did not figure into the decision against the Rangers because Sidney Ponson struggled as the opposing starter. He allowed six runs in a little over five innings of work.
