Francoeur: I'm Headed To Texas

Mets outfielder Jeff Francoeur says he?s been traded to the Rangers, according to an Associated Press report.

The Rangers have been looking for a right-handed hitter to come off the bench for the final month of the season and their expected postseason appearance. The deal had to be completed by Tuesday night in order for Francoeur to be eligible for the playoff roster.

The teams have yet to officially announce the trade, but the strong-armed Francoeur said after a loss to Atlanta that he?s headed to the Rangers.

Jeff Francoeur's time with the Mets might finally be coming to an end.

The Rangers are looking for a right-handed hitting outfielder and are considering Francoeur, according to two sources.

"His name has definitely been talked about," one source said.

Mets' Mejia Expected To Start On Saturday

The Mets are expected to start pitcher Jenrry Mejia on Saturday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Mejia turned in a dominant performance for Triple-A Buffalo on Monday night.

He made New York's roster as a reliever coming out of spring training, but the club soon decided to send him back to the minors to continue his development as a starter.
