Report: Beltran Gets Encouraging Opinion

Mets center fielder Carlos Beltran reportedly got an encouraging second option on his troublesome right knee.

The New York Daily News initially reported the story on Tuesday.

Beltran went to Colorado to visit specialist Dr. Richard Steadman on Monday, and the doctor reportedly confirmed that the outfielder has a bone bruise in the knee.

Assuming Beltran does have just a bruise, and doesn't need major surgery, he could return to the Mets after the All-Star break.

Beltran's Career Could Hinge On Diagnosis?

Mets center fielder Carlos Beltran has had a second opinion on his bum right knee.

He recently met with orthopedic surgeon Richard Steadman, who is famous for inventing microfracture knee surgery.

If Beltran undergoes such a procedure, he would likely miss the rest of the season and his career could be placed in jeopardy.

Beltran, 32, had arthroscopic surgery on both knees after the 2007 season.
