Outfielder Moises Alou expects to return to the lineup for the Mets next week, according to The New York Times.
He has missed time because of a calf injury and is eligible to come off the disabled list against the Padres next week.
"I play hard, I?m old, I?m beat up," Alou said Wednesday. "It?s true. It bothers me. It hurts. I want to be healthy so they don?t keep rubbing it in my face."
He last played on May 21 and only debuted this season on May 2 because of a hernia operation and an ankle injury during spring training.
He claims he was about 50 percent healed.
