Toros Re-Acquire Marcus Williams

The Austin Toros have re-acquired forward Marcus Williams who had been injured during the preseason and waived their seventh-round selection in this years D-League Draft, guard Daryl "Majic" Dorsey.

Williams who was in uniform today and scored 12 points against the Sioux Falls Skyforce, was the San Antonio Spurs' second round selection in the 2007 NBA Draft after playing two seasons at Arizona. He averaged 13 points a game in 2005-06 and 16.6 points and 6.7 rebounds the following season for the Wildcats. In 2007 he was named to the All Pac-10 team.

D-League's Toros Sign DerMarr Johnson, D. Washington Joins Him

The San Antonio Spurs have assigned rookie guard Darius Washington to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Austin Toros. Johnson is the 13th NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season.

The Toros also announced the acquisition of guard DerMarr Johnson, a former NBA lottery selection, from the available player pool and waived guard Patrick Fields. Johnson and Washington are expected to be available for Friday night’s game against Sioux Falls.

Lakers Assign Coby Karl To D-League

The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned guard Coby Karl to the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak.

Karl was signed by the Lakers as a free agent on July 30, 2007. He has appeared in two games this season, averaging 1.0 points and 1.0 assists in 2.0 minutes.

The 6’5” guard from Boise State averaged 14.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists as a senior and was named First Team All-WAC. Karl’s 1,698 career points ranks third on Boise State’s all-time scoring list while leaving Boise State as the all-time leader in games played (127) and three-pointers made (266).
