Minnesota's Denard Span struck his own mother in the chest with a foul ball during Wednesday's game.
She was treated by paramedics and back in the stands minutes later.
"My mom is feeling ok right now!" Span posted on his Twitter account.
Wanda Wilson was sitting with about 20 family members and friends near the third-base dugout. Span took a defensive swing in the first inning and sent a liner into the low box seats, hitting her near the shoulder.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire says that, barring a trade this week, the team will start the regular season with a closer-by-committee approach.
"If we decide to go with one guy as we go along, we'll go with one guy," Gardenhire said Sunday. "But we're going to start out and we're going to look at a lot of different people and we'll see what happens. We've got about three or four different guys we can go to."
Joe Nathan had Tommy John surgery on Sunday, ending his changes of playing in 2010.
Minnesota will use Matt Guerrier, Jon Rauch, Jesse Crain and Jose Mijares in the role based on workload and matchups.
