Twins To Consider Signing Bonds?

The Twins are so determined to bolster their lineup for next season, there were indications Thursday they would even consider signing Barry Bonds.

The San Francisco Giants have announced they will part ways with Bonds at season's end. The all-time home run leader wants to play next year, but soon he'll be a free agent looking for a job.

The chances of Bonds signing a free-agent contract in Minnesota are still remote, but the market could be limited.

Twins To Shop Santana?

The Twins don't have to trade Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana this winter, but they are expected to shop the left-handed pitcher who can become a free agent after next season. There will be more of a market for Santana, 28, this winter than next July before the trade deadline. The New York Mets, run by Omar Minaya, remain the strong favorite to acquire him if he leaves.

Hunter Doesn't Have Preference For Texas?

Contrary to what has been reported in Texas, Torii Hunter said he doesn't favor going to the Rangers because he lives nearby.

"That's what they say, but I don't favor Texas," he said. "My family doesn't even favor Texas, but we're just going to kind of wait and see."
