According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Rob Babcock attended Tuesday's pre-draft workouts at Target Center, and a front-office position appears to be in his future. Babcock left his post as the Wolves' vice president of player personnel two years ago, when he was hired as general manager of the Toronto Raptors.
"He's helping us out," Wolves general manager Jim Stack said. "It remains to be seen what that's going to germinate into. It's tentative. I think Glen (Taylor, owner) has a good comfort level with him because he's been here for a lot of years. He's a guy we feel we can work easily with, and he's eager to be here, so hopefully it will work out as we go along."
The Raptors fired Babcock in January.

While some people blamed Dwane Casey for the Wolves disappointing season, Wally Szczerbiak isn't one of them.
"I don't think there's any coach who prepares you better for a game," Szczerbiak said. "I know he took a lot of heat, especially after the trade, but he'll do a good job in this league for many years to come.
"I had a lot of interest in the Wolves," he said. "My parents found themselves still watching a lot of Timberwolves games. Minnesota will always have a special place in my heart; there's no question about that."
