Brewers Fire Stan Kyles

The Brewers have fired bullpen coach Stan Kyles.

Milwaukee said the change was necessary to improve a bullpen that has recorded the most losses and blown saves in the major leagues.

Kyles had been the bullpen coach since 2009.

Rangers, Angels, Braves, White Sox Pushing For Greinke

As the Brewers shop Zack Greinke, the Rangers, Angels, Braves and White Sox are pushing the hardest to acquire the right-hander.

Greinke is scheduled to pitch on Sunday for Milwaukee, two days before the non-waiver trade deadline.

"I have received several calls," said general manager Doug Melvin. "We are having ongoing conversations. There is a market for the best pitcher available on the (trade) market. I don't think there's any question about that."

Scout Expects Rangers To Acquire Greinke

The Brewers have admitted that they expect to trade Zack Greinke before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

An American League scout expects the Rangers to acquire the right-hander.

"If I were a betting man I would bet that the Rangers get Greinke. They are using Scott Feldman and Martin Perez in the rotation, right now," the scout said.

"I know they hope to get guys back like Roy Oswalt, but who is Oswalt now? They have too much at stake this season and too many prospects not to get someone like Greinke to put near the top of a rotation that needs another big arm."
