Brewers Won't Trade Fielder, Hart

After discussing possible trades involving first baseman Prince Fielder and outfielder Corey Hart, ESPN Insider Keith Law reports that Milwaukee is closed for business.

"They have decided they're close enough to contention that they're not selling, so Hart and Fielder are off the market," Law wrote, citing an executive from a rival club that was interested in a Milwaukee player.

Red Sox Interested In Hoffman

The Red Sox have inquired about Trevor Hoffman.

Hoffman has the Red Sox on his no trade list, one of five teams.

Milwaukee is not currently inclined to trade Hoffman.

White Sox Could Chase Fielder

The White Sox and Nationals are stuck in trade negotiations involving outfielder Adam Dunn, which leads some to believe that Chicago will turn their attention towards Milwaukee's Prince Fielder.

"When you're in first place, it's nicer," Sox general manager Kenny Williams said.

"When you're on the opposite end of the spectrum, it's not so nice. But we're always in the same mode. It's just kind of waiting for other teams to get in the same mode of wanting to do things and be kind of more aggressive along those lines of moving personnel around."

Chicago is looking for a left-hander run producer, a role that both Dunn and Fielder would fill nicely.
