Sheets Ready To Pitch

Ben Sheets, who developed and popped a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand last Tuesday, threw briefly Monday and pronounced himself ready to pitch.

"It's fine now," Sheets said. "I'm ready to go."

Sheets said he threw all of his pitches successfully.

"Everything's a go," Sheets said. "I wouldn't go out if it wasn't."

Announcer: Brewers Will Look To Add Lefty Reliever

The Brewers' play-by-play announcer Jim Powell thinks the team will try to acquire a left-handed reliever.

Stating that the Brewers will need to get a lefty for the pen if they want to make the post-season, Powell says the best time to do so will be near the trading deadline when you can find a team that is out of the playoff hunt.

Brewers GM Doug Melvin has plenty of depth from which to deal with the club's stable of minor league talent.
