Angels first baseman Kendrys Morales resumed baseball activities Tuesday after experiencing no setbacks following a batting practice session the day prior.
Morales, who will start the season on the disabled list as he recovers from surgery on his lower left leg, was examined by a doctor Tuesday morning.
"We had no surprises," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "The next step for him is running on the ankle and taking ground balls."

Angels first baseman Kendrys Morales has been shut down temporarily due to soreness in the ball of his left foot.
He experienced the soreness after running in consecutive days.
Morales, who played 51 games last year before fracturing his lower left leg on May 29, will open the season on the 15-day disabled list.
"We would prefer he's ready, like anybody," general manager Tony Reagins said of Morales. "But we understand the significance of the injury. When you put it in that context, you have to be smart.
"We have a long season ahead of us. If we can be conservative and smart on the front end, hopefully it benefits us in the long run."

Angels right-hander Joel Pineiro left his start with tightness in the back of his right shoulder on Sunday.
He may not be ready for the start of the season.
Pineiro was supposed to throw about 90 pitches, but left a minor league game against the Cubs' Triple-A team after just two innings and 35 pitches.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Pineiro still might have time to avoid the disabled list, but that he might be held back from his first scheduled start, April 5 against the Rays.
"I want to get a better understanding, but I guess he just felt a little stiffness," Scioscia said, according to the Orange County Register.
