Lee Rejected Trade To Angels

Derrek Lee has rejected a proposed trade that would have sent him to the Los Angeles Angels.

Lee made the following statement regarding his decision.

"There may be a time when I'm ready to talk about it, but not now," Lee said.

Ken Rosenthal said despite the proposed deal he has learned that the Angels have pulled back a little bit with their buyer-mentality after falling 8.5 games behind the Texas Rangers.

Haren Doesn't Want To Miss Start

Angels starter Dan Haren doesn't want to miss his next scheduled start after taking a line drive off his forearm during his debut on Monday night against the Red Sox.

"The X-rays didn't show anything. They looked pretty clear so it's just a matter of getting the soreness and swelling out of there," Haren said.

"I got out there and threw from about 150-200 feet today and felt pretty good ... so as of now I'd like to think I'll be good to go on Saturday."

The Angels were encouraged by how Haren looked, but they will wait to see how he progresses in the coming days.
