Jury Indicts Driver In Crash That Killed Adenhart

Andrew Thomas Gallo was indicted on three counts of murder earlier this week.

Gallo was also indicted by the Orange County grand jury on charges of felony hit-and-run, driving under the influence and causing injury, and driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol or higher and causing injury, according to the Orange County Register.

He faces a maximum sentence of 54 years and eight months to life in prison if convicted on all counts after causing the crash that killed three people, including Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart.

Angels Get Rare Opportunity In Draft

The Angels have been unable to build their club via high draft picks over the past few seasons due to how aggressively they have pursued free agents.

This year, the Angels will receive five picks before the second round begins.

The Angels are also believed to be interested in Texas prep Everett Williams, La Verne Bonita High shortstop Jiovanni Mier and Santa Monica High left-hander Tyler Skaggs.

"It's a great opportunity," Bane says of the Angels' picks. "We're never going to pick in the top 10 that I can foresee because we're so good at the big league level. So this is a unique deal. We're looking forward to it."

Abreu Could Miss Halos' Weekend Series

A toe injury could keep Angels outfielder Bobby Abreu out of the lineup this weekend against the Dodgers.

Abreu says that he injured his toe during Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

"I'm not sure if it happened before I stepped on the base or after," Abreu said. "I felt pinching, but it's not really bad."

Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia said it's possible that Abreu could pinch-hit against the Dodgers, but also hinted that Monday is what the team is shooting for.

"This looks like it's day to day," Scioscia said. "It's a little tender, but it's not as bad as it could have been."
