Hunter To Angels: Go Get Sabathia

Angels' outfielder Torii Hunter believes that the team can be better next season and said that he wants to see Mark Teixeira back and a serious run made at CC Sabathia.

He has quickly become a leader in the team's clubhouse after just one season in the organization.

"I am going to start right in spring training making sure the guys know that this year we are going to kick some [posterior]. . . . We are going to put it in everyone's heads that in the playoffs next year it is going to be different," Hunter said. "Don't start worrying about the pressures of everyone saying we can't win the big ones or the Red Sox dominating you. Right away, I am going to try to [instill] that."

Konerko To Angels?

If the Angels are unable to re-sign Mark Teixeira, they could make a play for White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko, who came close to signing with the team after the 2005 season.

Konerko is reportedly friendly with Angel's Manager Mike Scioscia dating to their days in the Dodgers' organization.

The first baseman has two years remaining on his contract.
